		<description>@Steve, that is a very interesting conundrum, not having your last name on your UK birth certificate will not fly in Poland. I was curious if there was an update for this post, as one was promised. I hope that the author obtained his/hers apostille.</description>

		<description>Also beware if you were born in the UK before 1969. When you obtain a copy of your birth certificate (the old style landscape certificate). It will only have your forename. In the UK this is not a problem as everyone knows you have the same surname as your parents. In Poland unfortunately this is not the case.
Although my birth certificate was accepted for the purpose of marriage over here, they will not accept it for obtaining a Polish birth certificate (a requirement for obtaining Polish citizenship). I&#039;m in the process of begging the registrar in the UK to send an explanation ( signed with coloured ink and with as many official looking stamps as he can find attached) and hoping that this will suffice (after sworn translation of course).</description>
